On 7 – 11 November 2005 our school hosted a Comenius meeting of the schools being our partners in a Socrates Comenius 1.1 project. Teachers from England (Ms Amanda Ellis-Rushton and Ms Kate Leedham), from Malta (Ms Marguerite Agius) and from Spain (Ms Nieves Gomez and Ms Carmen Blanco Terroba) came and stayed with us for a week. On Sunday, 6 November, they went for a trip to Cracow and could admire its beautiful sights, such as Kazimierz district, the Old Market Square, Sukiennice, the Floriańska Gate, the Barbican, Our Lady’s Church and the Wawel Castle. On Monday a welcome ceremony was held at the gym, during which our school theatre presented a legend of the Wawel Dragon and the choir sang songs in the guests’ native languages. On the days that followed the guest teachers conducted lessons with our students. They taught us to dance, to cook hot chocolate and told us about celebrations of their countries. On Thursday they had a chance to see our celebrations connected with the Independence Day, prepared by classes 2a and 2b, Wizjer Theatre and the cheerleaders. We will long cherish the memory of the days spent together and the lessons, which were not only a chance to learn, but also try to use all the English we had mastered by then!
